A Journey from Conflict to Consciousness

I am Colonel Prakash Tewari—an environmentalist, soldier, corporate leader, and a lifelong seeker of inner truth.

My spiritual journey began amidst the towering silence of the Himalayas, where I served in the Indian Army. Stationed in the remote regions of Joshimath, Harsil, Badrinath, and Gangotri, I often found myself surrounded by snow, solitude, and stillness. It was there, by the banks of the Bhagirathi and Alaknanda, that I first heard the quiet call of the soul.

Through study of sacred texts like the Bhagavad Gita, immersion in classical Sanskrit, and years of disciplined Vipassana meditation, I began walking the path that would transform my life—from the frontlines of conflict to the calm clarity of spiritual service.

Bunker to Bliss – From Soldier to Seeker

My first book, Bunker to Bliss, is a spiritual memoir that explores the journey from outer war to inner peace. It weaves personal stories from my time in the Army and corporate world with the timeless wisdom of the Gita. Written in accessible language, it invites readers into a conversation about courage, clarity, and the deeper meaning of purpose.

Morning Muse – Daily Reflections for a Meaningful Life

Published by Wordsmith International, USA

Morning Muse is a collection of over four decades of distilled insights—a daily guide to shift from negative thoughts to positive action. This book blends spiritual psychology, personal introspection, and mindful awareness, and has touched thousands of readers worldwide.

A Life of Practice and Purpose

Spirituality is not a compartment in my life—it is the thread that connects all of it. I’ve worked closely with spiritual luminaries like Bhikkhu Sanghasena Ji, contributed to global interfaith dialogues, and practiced eco-spiritual living at home through rainwater harvesting, solar energy, organic composting, and the nurturing of natural habitats for birds and butterflies.

What’s Next: Gita for the Everyday Seeker

I am currently working on a new book—a contemporary interpretation of the Bhagavad Gita based on lived experiences in both conflict zones and corporate corridors. The aim is simple: to bring the Gita's profound teachings into the hands and hearts of everyday people navigating modern dilemmas. I am also working on Volume 2 and 3 of Morning Muse.

My spiritual journey is rooted in the study of sacred texts like the Bhagavad Gita and classical Sanskrit, along with consistent meditation practices, particularly Vipassana. These disciplines have shaped my worldview, inner clarity, and sense of purpose, especially after pivotal life experiences and near-death encounters during military service.

My spiritual messages, shared daily under the title “Morning Muse,” reach over 18,000 people worldwide, offering brief yet profound reflections on life, purpose, and mindfulness. My spiritual engagement goes beyond personal practice. The ability to bridge ancient wisdom with contemporary issues helps me in putting across my thoughts in spiritual and humanitarian circles.

From the snowbound silence of Harsil to bustling boardrooms, and now through books, messages, and mindful living—I continue to walk the path of transformation and truth.
If you’re looking for guidance, grounding, or simply a breath of spiritual reflection in a noisy world, I invite you to journey with me.
