Morning Muse 93 : Rising Above Ego
Ego creates conflict, but wisdom dissolves it. Life teaches us that it’s not people but karma that shapes our experiences. We cannot change others—but every encounter gives us a chance to change ourselves.

Ego is like two swords kept in the same sheath—when they rub, they clash. Wherever ego exists, conflict is inevitable. But when wisdom awakens, we rise above quarrels, judgments, and misunderstandings.
Think about it: how often have your judgments about others been proven wrong? Sometimes, even before sending a message, something within whispers, “Don’t send this.” That hesitation itself shows how unreliable our judgments can be. Yet still, we carry grudges, create misunderstandings, and trap ourselves in false ideas about people.
Life makes it clear—when your time is good, even an enemy may act like a friend. When your time is difficult, even a friend may turn against you. This shows it is karma—not people—that governs much of what we experience.
So why cling to judgments? Often, those who accuse others of ego carry a large ego themselves. Those who call others rude, somewhere within, hold the same tendency.
Remember: you cannot change others. But every encounter offers you a chance to change yourself. The wise see friend and foe with equal vision, for the Self remains untouched by both.
