Morning Muse 90 : Don’t Quit, Keep Playing

A mother once took her young son to hear the great Paderewski in concert. While she paused to greet a friend in the audience, the boy wandered off, slipping through a door marked NO ADMITTANCE. Moments later, as the lights dimmed and the curtain rose, there he was—sitting at the grand Steinway, innocently playing Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.
Gasps filled the hall. Then, from the wings, the master himself walked onto the stage. He bent down and whispered, “Don’t quit. Keep playing.” With his left hand, he added a deep, rich bass; with his right, a flowing harmony. What began as a child’s hesitant notes became, in the master’s hands, a moving, beautiful performance that left the audience spellbound.
Life is like that. We often stumble into places we feel unprepared for, playing only the simplest of tunes—uncertain, exposed, and afraid. Yet in those very moments, the Divine leans close and whispers: “Don’t quit. Keep playing. I am with you.” Together, our humble efforts and His guiding hand can turn even life’s rough starts into a masterpiece that touches hearts.
So today, no matter how uncertain your notes may feel, keep going. The Master is already at your side.
