Morning Muse 84 : When Tears Become Rain: The Healing Power of Letting Go
Tears are not signs of weakness, but of resistance. Like rain that nourishes the earth, tears cleanse the soul when the heart finally surrenders. In allowing them to flow, we create space for healing, peace, and deeper connection.

Tears don’t fall simply because we miss someone—they flow when we resist the reality of that absence, when the heart refuses to let go. The struggle between holding on and surrendering is what brings the flood.
A young disciple once asked his master why tears come only when the heart resists loss. The master replied, “Tears are like rain—sometimes they pour not because the clouds are heavy, but because the earth is reluctant to drink. When the heart surrenders, tears become blessings that nourish the soul and prepare it to bloom again.”
In many spiritual traditions, peace is found not in clinging, but in acceptance. The Satgurus remind us that love is freedom, not possession; Sri Sri Ravi Shankar teaches that meditation allows us to embrace both joy and sorrow with calmness.
So when tears rise, let them flow freely. Let them be a sacred release, a gentle surrender to life’s rhythm. In letting go, you are not losing—you are making space for healing and deeper connection.
