Morning Muse 48 : Gratitude: The Soil of Abundance

Be Thankful

How many times have we watched something on television—a documentary, a news story, a glimpse into someone else’s hardship—and quietly said to ourselves:
"It really makes you appreciate what you’ve got."

Most of us have. And in that moment, we truly do feel grateful.

But how long does it last?
A few minutes?
An hour, maybe?

Then life resumes its usual pace. The to-do lists, the small irritations, the daily grind… and we forget—again.

But here’s a gentle truth:

For the dreams of tomorrow to blossom, we must cherish the gifts of today.

Gratitude is the soil from which all abundance grows.
It’s not just a moral idea—it’s a practical one.

When we are thankful for what we already have, we create the mental and emotional space to receive more.

Today, I pause to be thankful—for the constants that make my life meaningful:
My wife, who stands beside me.
My two boys, my pride and joy.
My home, my safe haven.
My mother, my sisters, my nieces and nephews—my roots and my circle.
My health, my greatest wealth.

In acknowledging these, I find a quiet happiness. A grounding.
Because no matter how big our dreams are, they rest on the foundation of what we already have.

So today, before chasing more, just pause.
Take a breath.
Take stock.
And be thankful.

For when we truly appreciate the present, the future begins to open its arms.
