Morning Muse 398 : The Place That Knows Your Value
Your worth is not determined by the opinions, recognition, or approval of others. Like a priceless treasure, your value remains unchanged even when it is overlooked. When you place yourself in environments that recognize your gifts and encourage your growth, your true potential naturally unfolds.

As his final gift, a father handed his son an old watch that had belonged to his grandfather. The watch was nearly two centuries old and had been treasured through generations. Before giving it away, the father said,
"Take this watch to a jeweller and ask how much they would pay for it."
The son returned and said,
"They offered only a small amount because they felt it was old and outdated."
The father then asked him to visit a pawn shop. The offer there was even lower.
"It looks worn out," they said.
Finally, the father sent him to a museum. This time, the curator examined the watch carefully and offered an extraordinary sum, explaining that it was a rare and priceless antique of great historical value.
The father smiled and said,
"Remember this lesson for life. The same watch received three very different valuations—not because its worth changed, but because the people assessing it saw it differently. Never measure your value by the opinion of someone who cannot recognize your uniqueness."
The lesson extends beyond a watch.
I am reminded of a young eagle that was raised among chickens. For years it scratched the ground and fluttered only a few feet into the air because it believed it was a chicken. One day, it looked up and saw an eagle soaring effortlessly across the sky. Inspired, it spread its wings and discovered its true nature. The ability to soar had always been within it; it simply needed the right environment to awaken what was already there.
Life is much the same. Many people underestimate themselves because they seek validation from places that neither understand nor appreciate their gifts. Yet our worth is not determined by public opinion, titles, positions, or circumstances. It is inherent. Recognition may vary from place to place, but true value never changes.
Reflection
Do not become discouraged when others fail to recognize your worth. A diamond displayed in a vegetable market may be treated like an ordinary stone, yet its brilliance remains unchanged. Seek environments that nurture your strengths, honour your potential, and inspire your growth. Sometimes the greatest change you need is not in who you are, but in where you choose to stand.
The sun remains the sun, even on the cloudiest day.
Affirmation of the Day
I know my worth is inherent, not earned through approval. I choose environments that honour my gifts, nurture my growth, and allow my light to shine in service to the world.
