Morning Muse 325 : Return to the Airport

Just like an aircraft needs to land for refuelling and repairs, we too need regular pauses to restore ourselves. Turning to God or a deeper source of stillness brings clarity, strength, and healing. True progress comes not from constant motion, but from knowing when to stop and renew.

An aircraft, no matter how powerful or advanced, cannot remain in the sky forever. It must land, again and again, for refuelling, repairs, and renewal. Even the finest machines need pause before they can continue their journey.

So do we.

In the rush of life, we often keep “flying”, pushing through fatigue, ignoring inner wear and tear, hoping we can go a little further without stopping. But just like an aircraft, we are not designed for endless motion without restoration.

A pilot once shared, “It’s not the flying that’s dangerous; it’s skipping the checks.” Small faults, when ignored, become serious risks.

Life is no different.

There must be a place we return to, a space of stillness, guidance, and quiet repair. For many, that place is God. Not distant, not unavailable, but steady, constant, always ready.

We often expect solutions to meet us mid-air, in the chaos of our problems. But the deeper wisdom is, we must return. Even an emergency landing is still a landing.

And when we do, something shifts.

Clarity replaces confusion. Strength replaces exhaustion. What felt broken begins to mend, not always instantly, but surely.

The remarkable part? This “airport” never closes. No waiting, no qualifications, no cost. Just a willingness to pause, to turn inward, to reconnect.

Because the journey is not about flying endlessly, it is about flying well.

And those who rise highest are often the ones who know when to land.

Reflection:
When was the last time I truly paused to refuel, repair, and realign myself?
