Morning Muse 321 : The Power of Awareness
Awareness has the power to transform our actions, making it difficult to act negatively when we are fully conscious. While impulsive reactions lead to regret, mindful awareness enables growth, clarity, and creativity. By practicing awareness through simple acts and observing the breath, we can live more consciously instead of reacting out of habit.

A thief once asked a saint how to stop stealing. The saint replied, “Don’t stop, just steal with full awareness.” Months later, the thief returned and said, “I couldn’t. The moment I became aware, I could not steal.”
That is the power of awareness.
We often say, “I lost my temper,” but what we really lose is awareness. In its absence, even a small impulse can lead to regret. While destruction needs only a moment of passion, creation and growth require steady awareness.
A sculptor once said his finest work came not from bursts of emotion, but from quiet attention. Yet in life, we cultivate passion more than awareness.
The path to awareness lies in simple acts, watching nature, walking quietly, or even eating with attention. And above all, in observing the breath, our constant, silent companion from birth to death.
Perhaps awareness is not something new to gain, but something to remember.
Reflection:
Am I acting with awareness, or simply reacting out of habit.
