Morning Muse 318: One Bulb at a Time
Greatness is built through small, consistent efforts over time, not sudden bursts of action. Waiting for the “perfect moment” only delays a life that can begin right now. Start where you are, take one step today, and let time transform it into something meaningful.

She almost didn’t go.
It was cold, the road was wrapped in fog, and the journey felt unnecessary. “Let’s forget the daffodils,” she said. “I have all I need right here.” But her daughter insisted, gently yet firmly, “You’ll regret missing this.”
Reluctantly, she went.
And then, around a quiet bend, everything changed.
Before her stretched a hillside drenched in gold. Thousands upon thousands of daffodils, flowing like rivers of colour, yellow, white, soft orange, planted in sweeping patterns across the land. It wasn’t just a garden; it was devotion made visible.
“Who did this?” she asked, almost in disbelief.
“Just one woman.”
A small sign nearby told the story:
50,000 bulbs.
Planted one at a time.
Started decades ago.
No grand team. No sudden miracle. Just one person, one intention, one step, repeated patiently over years.
That day carried a quiet revelation; greatness is rarely created in bursts. It is shaped in small, consistent acts, often unnoticed, often uncelebrated.
We tend to postpone life.
“I’ll begin when things settle…”
“When I have more time…”
“When everything is perfect…”
But life doesn’t wait for perfect conditions. It unfolds in the now.
A writer once said, “The work of art is not in the masterpiece, but in showing up to the canvas each day.” The same is true for life. Whether it is building a dream, nurturing a relationship, or simply choosing joy, it begins in small, daily acts.
The daffodil garden whispers a timeless truth:
You don’t need a lifetime to begin. You just need today.
Not someday. Not when everything aligns.
Just… one bulb at a time.
Reflection:
What is one small step I can take today toward a life I truly wish to create?
