Morning Muse 203 : Our Journey Together Is So Short
Life is a short, shared journey, not worth wasting on anger, arguments, or resentment. Kindness, forgiveness, and understanding bring peace, and remembering how brief our time together is helps us let go, love more, and live with gratitude.

A young lady once sat quietly on a bus. At the next stop, a loud and grumpy old woman climbed in and squeezed herself into the seat beside her, bumping the young lady repeatedly with her many bags. The person seated on the other side watched this and, feeling irritated, asked the young lady why she did not speak up or argue back.
The young lady simply smiled and replied,
“It is not necessary to be rude or argue over something so insignificant. Our journey together is so short. I get off at the next stop.”
Those words deserve to be written in golden letters.
How often do we burden ourselves with anger, arguments, and resentment over moments that are fleeting? If we truly realized how short our time together is—on a bus, in a relationship, or in life itself—we would not waste it on quarrels, fault-finding, or bitterness. Such reactions only drain our energy and darken a journey that is already brief.
Did someone break your heart? Be calm—the journey is short.
Did someone betray, bully, cheat, or humiliate you? Be calm, forgive—the journey is short.
No one knows how long this journey will last or when their stop will come. This awareness alone can soften the heart. Let us cherish our friends and family, speak with kindness, act with compassion, and forgive more easily. Let gratitude and gladness become our companions along the way.
If I have ever hurt you, I ask for your forgiveness.
If you have ever hurt me, you already have it.
After all, we are only fellow travellers, and our journey together is so short.
