When the mind is tired and overwhelmed, it may whisper that ending life will end the pain. But pain does not dissolve by destroying the body. The body is, in fact, the very instrument through which healing, clarity, and freedom become possible.
Our ancient wisdom reminds us that human birth is rare and precious—an opportunity earned through countless journeys—and it deserves reverence, not rejection. Much of our suffering arises from intense hankering: for pleasure, approval, status, or validation. These are fleeting by nature, and clinging to them drains our breath—the life-giving force (prana)—leaving the mind restless and heavy.
Breath, meditation, mindful action, and sincere service have the power to restore balance. When we shift our focus from “What about me?” to “How can I be useful?”, the grip of despair slowly loosens. Praise and criticism lose their sting when we realize they are momentary thoughts in someone else’s mind, not the measure of our worth.
You are needed. You have a role to play, a contribution to make, and a purpose that may not yet be visible—but it exists. Live lightly, breathe deeply, dedicate yourself to something higher, and remember: choosing life is an act of courage, awareness, and hope.
