Morning Muse 164 : A Decade of Love, Learning & Light — A Father’s Code of Life

A decade of Morning Muse, a decade of marriage—two journeys driven by love, reflection, and growth. Today, a father gifts not wealth but wisdom: kindness over pride, courage over comfort, gratitude over complaint. Life may never be perfect, but lived with love, purpose and grace, it becomes beautifully whole.

(13 December — Our Wedding Anniversary)

This day is special.
It marks not just the years of togetherness your mother and I have shared, but also a decade of Morning Muse—ten years of reflection, resilience, and rediscovery.

When I wrote my first Muse, it was merely a whisper to myself—private, gentle, unassuming. I never imagined these thoughts would travel beyond the silence of my heart into the minds and mornings of so many. Yet today, thousands of dawns later, we stand together—connected by shared wonder, reflection, and the simple desire to live meaningfully.

On this anniversary, I want to gift something lasting—not possessions, but principles. These are the distilled learnings of a life lived through love, loss, laughter, mistakes and miracles. I wrote them first for my children, but they belong to anyone who believes fulfilment lies not in achievement, but in awareness.

A Father’s Code of Life

  1. Be kind, humble, and courteous. Real strength rarely raises its voice.

  2. Do what is right, not what is easy. Courage is grace under pressure.

  3. Learn from mistakes. Every stumble hides a lesson.

  4. Hold your tongue in anger. Silence can save what anger destroys.

  5. Give more than you take. Generosity is wealth that grows when shared.

  6. Seek the good in everything. Gratitude transforms pain into wisdom.

  7. Say yes to life. Openness invites grace; curiosity invites growth.

  8. Stand by your friends. Loyalty is rare—honour it.

  9. Respect everyone and everything. Each person carries a spark of the divine.

  10. Live fully and fearlessly. Laugh deeply, love widely, hope endlessly.

These are not rules—only reminders.
Gentle signposts on the long, winding road of life.

Carry them, my children, as your compass when the world turns loud or unclear.

And to my Morning Muse family—thank you.
For ten years of listening, receiving, feeling, and allowing my words to live inside your days. You have been the unseen heart of this journey.

Life may never be perfect—yet it will always be deeply beautiful when lived with love, courage, and gratitude.

Reflection

Love gives life meaning.
Gratitude gives it beauty.
Purpose gives it strength.

On this anniversary, I celebrate all three—
with my family, my readers,
and the quiet grace that has carried me across these ten extraordinary years.
