Morning Muse 16: In the End, Only Kindness Remains
We come into this world with nothing, and we leave the same way — empty-handed and surrendered. So why do we waste our brief time here in envy, resentment, or ego? This gentle reflection reminds us of life’s impermanence and urges us to walk lightly, love deeply, and leave behind only kindness. Because in the end, that’s all that truly matters.

You came into this world naked,
And you will leave just the same.
You arrived fragile and helpless,
And you will depart in quiet surrender.
You brought nothing with you — no wealth, no belongings.
And when you go, not even the dust will follow.
Your first bath — someone gently washed you.
Your last — someone else will do the same.
This… is life.
So why then —
So much malice?
So much envy?
Why the hate, the resentment, the greed?
What are we clinging to?
Be kind.
Be gentle.
Speak with love.
Walk lightly.
Forgive freely.
We are all just passing through.
Our time here is short —
Too short to waste on pettiness,
Too precious to lose in ego.
Choose peace.
Choose kindness.
Because in the end,
That’s all we truly leave behind.
