Morning Muse 154 : If Tomorrow Never Comes

Life is uncertain, so do not wait to express gratitude, seek forgiveness, and share love. Say what matters today, while you still have the chance.

If tomorrow I should never wake up, I would want to leave behind words of humility and gratitude.

I would say I am sorry for the moments when I hurt someone, ignored a feeling, misunderstood a situation, or failed to do better. There were times when I could have shown more patience, more kindness, more presence. Like everyone else, I have been imperfect, learning slowly through experience.

I would also want to say thank you.
Thank you to the friends who walked beside me through both calm and storm. Thank you to the acquaintances who crossed my path only briefly but still left a quiet mark on my life. And even thank you to those who challenged me, corrected me, or forced me to reflect, because growth often comes from discomfort.

Each person we meet becomes part of our story in some way. Through one another we learn, change, and mature.

Life is uncertain, and time is fragile. No one knows which conversation will be the last, which meeting will be the final one, or which day will quietly close a chapter of life.

That is why wisdom traditions, including the teachings of Gautama Buddha, often remind us to live with awareness of impermanence. When we remember that life is temporary, we begin to value kindness, forgiveness, and gratitude far more than pride or resentment.

So let us not wait for a final goodbye to say what truly matters.

Speak kindly today.
Forgive today.
Express gratitude today.

Because the chance to do so is the greatest gift this moment offers.
