Morning Muse 122 : The Divine Duet: Don’t Quit, Keep Playing
A child’s faltering notes on “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” turn into a masterpiece when the great Paderewski joins in, whispering, “Don’t quit. Keep playing.” So it is with life—when we falter, the Divine quietly harmonizes with our imperfect tune, turning effort into grace and struggle into beauty.

Wishing to encourage her young son’s progress on the piano, a mother took him to a Paderewski concert. After they were seated, she spotted a friend in the audience and stepped away for a moment.
Seizing the chance to explore, the little boy wandered off—through a door boldly marked “NO ADMITTANCE.”
Moments later, as the lights dimmed and the curtain rose, there he was—sitting at the grand Steinway, small fingers stumbling through “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star.” Gasps rippled through the hall. The mother froze in horror.
Then, the great master Paderewski walked on stage. Without scolding or hesitation, he leaned down and whispered gently, “Don’t quit. Keep playing.”
Placing his left hand beside the boy’s, he began to weave in deep, rich bass notes. Then his right arm reached around, adding a delicate melody that danced and soared above the child’s simple tune.
What began as a child’s mistake became a moment of breathtaking beauty—the audience utterly spellbound as master and novice created music that transcended both fear and imperfection.
There are times when we stumble—when our lives sound like the halting notes of a child’s song. But in those moments, the Divine whispers softly within:
“Don’t quit. Keep playing. You are not alone.”
When we persist—trusting the unseen hand that moves with ours—the broken patterns of our lives become part of a greater symphony. Together, we and the Master create not chaos, but a melody that heals, uplifts, and mesmerizes the world.
Keep playing your tune today—no matter how simple it seems. Grace is already composing the harmony around you.
